This is a British Academy/Leverhulme Trust-funded project that looks at the philosophical issues surrounding hunger strikes, self-immolation and other forms of political self-harm.

The project is led by Dr. Guy Aitchison, a political theorist based at the Department for International Relations, Politics and History at Loughborough University, UK.
